Description:

Tunze Clasic DOC 9206
Protein Skimmer.
The skimmers of the Classic DOC skimmer model series operate according
to the horizontal rotation principle of the first generation,
supplemented with the newly developed e-jet Hydrofoamer. Despite its
very small structural size, this unit has an excellent skimming
performance, and is especially suitable for breeding tanks with living
plankton. Classic DOC skimmers can be placed easily and inconspicuously
in the aquarium at an immersion depth of between 60 and 90 mm (2.3 and
3.5 in.). They can also be used in aquarium cabinets and tolerate water
level variations of +/- 20 mm (.78 in.) without readjustment of the air
output. Skimmer cup and foam reactor are one unit in all TUNZE® Classic
DOC skimmers. Delivery condition: Completely ready for mounting with
holding device for vertical panes and horizontal glass tops up to 19 mm
(.74 in.).
In 1963, TUNZE® developed the first series-produced protein skimmer with
its own air production. In this rotating Venturi skimmer, the hard
water jet of a pressure pump is used to produce a constant fine mixture
of air bubbles, which is collected in an easy-to-clean skimmer cup by
means of an effective removal system. An integrated contact pipe is used
to remove protein particles from the water. The protein from the
aquarium then is drawn in automatically by means of the so-called
molecular compensation pressures (diffusions). This TUNZE® invention of
contact skimming makes sure that no living plankton is drawn into the
pump circulation.
